运动医学专家Jeff Stotts发推分析道：“勒布朗-詹姆斯伤情消息：二级扭伤也称为部分撕裂或不完全撕裂。通常不需要手术，尤其是在内侧半月板未受影响的情况下。其他遭受二级内侧副韧带（MCL）扭伤的球员包括凯文-杜兰特、马克-加索尔和SGA（谢伊-吉尔杰斯-亚历山大），这一伤病的平均导致缺阵时间约为41天（约21场比赛）。”
运动医师Evan Jeffries则在比赛期间就对詹姆斯的受伤画面进行了分析，他当时发推写道：“迪文岑佐的膝盖似乎直接撞上了勒布朗的膝盖。最好的情形：膝盖碰撞 最差的情形：MCL扭伤，因为外侧的冲击力影响到了膝盖内部。”
在今日詹姆斯的伤情报道出炉后，该医师补充道：“很不幸，这次真的变成了最差的情形，即便有G6勒布朗也会缺阵，他很可能缺席4-6周。”
